Sniff a Fresh Scent
Morning queasiness is often smell associated. Estrogen is the hormone responsible for your sense of smell. When you are pregnant, you have high levels of estrogen which causes you to smell like a bloodhound. Since your sense of smell is so heightened when you are pregnant, there are plenty of smells that can make you sick. If you suddenly start to feel queasy after smelling something, a smell that you like can make you feel better. If you carry around a bottle of lemon extract or some fresh mint around with you, smelling these things can make you feel better if you start feeling sick.
Crackers
One tried and true cure for morning queasiness is crackers. If you eat just a couple, the nausea should start to fade. When choosing the right cracker, you want to go with something bland such as soda crackers or saltines. Crackers with too much flavor will only make you sick.
Stay Hydrated
Water can stop morning queasiness in its tracks. If you drink enough water, it could keep you from getting morning queasiness altogether. When you are pregnant, it is easy to become dehydrated. The more dehydrated you become, the more nauseous you will start to feel. You should try to drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. If you start to feel nauseous and you don’t think you will be able to hold the water down, try chewing on ice chips.
Ginger
Ginger is a natural stomach soother. If you start feeling nauseous due to morning queasiness, try a glass of flat ginger ale or add a thin slice of ginger to your tea. If you find that your morning queasiness starts to kick in during the middle of your work day, you should keep a bag of ginger candy, gingersnaps, or gingerbread with you. A little bit of ginger can go a long when you have morning queasiness.
Adjust Your Computer
If you are sitting at work in front of your computer and morning queasiness hits you like a Mack truck, your computer could be to blame. The bright light on the screen and the undetectable strobe light can be making you sick and you don’t even realize it. To keep your computer from making you feel queasy, adjust your computer screen to reduce eye strain. You should also make the font bolder and larger, and change the background to a tan or soft pink. This could be just what you need to keep from feeling sick.
